Eur Ing David M. Wilson is a dispute resolution practitioner and an engineering professional. He is both Chartered Engineer and Chartered Arbitrator.

 

He holds the degree of BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and is a European Engineer, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

 

David is listed as arbitrator, adjudicator and expert determiner by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

 

His experience of capital plant engineering projects extends over more than thirty five years and encompasses posts with contractor, consulting engineer and purchaser.

TIMELINE

A summary of my career activities:

 

Since 1996 offering personal service as arbitrator and expert determiner to decide disputes in engineering contracts. From 1999 also offering personal service as adjudicator especially under the UK 'Construction Act'.

 

From 1989 to 2014 Utilising Contract Engineering Claims Limited, providing a service of high level expertise in engineering contracts topics to private client companies: contractors & purchasers of process plants, capital plant & equipment. The accent is on overcoming or avoiding disputes in engineering contracts. Client companies are based in the UK, in Europe and the Commonwealth.

 

From 1985 to 1989 with Swedish owned ‘BT Industries’. As General Manager of the UK Systems Division, developing and controlling a business as designers and contractors/integrators for high technology, computer controlled, automated warehousing and materials handling projects.

 

From 1977 to 1985 in roles of Project Group Manager and Contracts Group Manager with Hawker Siddeley Water Engineering Ltd. - process plants for water and sewage treatment and incineration/furnaces in an international £ multi-million market.

 

From 1974 to 1977 with National Freight Corporation as Project Manager with engineering responsibility for the Group’s waste reclamation and incineration projects from initial feasibility through plant design, procurement, manufacture, installation and commissioning to the initial on-line operation.

 

In 1973 and 1974 with W.S. Atkins & Partners (one of Europe’s largest consulting engineers) as Project Engineer concerned with design and construction of large-scale municipal refuse incineration plants and feasibility of waste handling and reclamation projects.

 

From 1970 to 1973 as Project Engineer with NTH Ltd., a process plant contractor to the sewage and effluent treatment industry.

 

In 1969 and 1970 as a Design Engineer in the Reactor Equipment Division of GEC at Whetstone, near Leicester. Engaged in design work for Magnox and Advanced Gas Cooled nuclear reactors systems and sub-assemblies.

 

From 1965 to 1969 Honours degree course (4+ years) in mechanical engineering in combination with student apprenticeship with GEC. Work experience gained in many aspects of business and engineering including site installation (at Wylfa nuclear power station, Anglesey Wales) and gas turbine testing.

 

Eur Ing David M. Wilson has a continuing professional interest in furthering the dispute resolution service.
